Jee is an artist and writer born in Seoul, Korea. After immigrating to the US, she grew up in Illinois and earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Her artistic practice builds on the continuum of cultures shaping identity. Working across various mediums including oil paint, charcoal and ink, her art morphs recognizable objects into vivid realms that merge personal and collective stories into one space. Diasporic memory is central to her work, as her dreamscapes synthesize the conflicts of assimilation and preservation of Asian and Western traditions. Through this practice, she channels the disorienting human experience of cultural integration, challenging the tension between the shameful pressures and the vitalizing voices of our modern world.

As a young immigrant woman, she aims to celebrate the creative range and inclusivity amongst her community. Working alongside the Raud Gallery, she strives to bridge artists and art lovers to nurture accessibility in socially engaged art.
